The Best Laid Plans…

prejourney, setbacks — potterzot @ 1:06 pm

I just found out this morning that several members of the Eastern Caribbean program departing in August have been pushed back to a different program due to a lack of training staff or something like that.  I don’t really have a lot of details at the moment, but I’ll let everyone know as soon as I do.

The late notice is tough.  My last day at work was Friday, and I’ve just started packing to move, and experiencing the sadness that is leaving one life to start another.  Instead of leaving though, I’ll be hanging around for another few months for a different program.

In the ’silver lining’ theme, I have a chance to go to Africa instead, which would be super awesome.

More info to follow.

  1. Hope you will have a fun and successful time of service here in Dominica. I’m sure it will be very very different from things that you may be used to. Come with an open and humble mind. Good luck!.. and WELCOME :)

  2. Hi Nick,

Congratulations on your PC invitation. Peace Corps is in a budget crisis right now, so that may be why things are up in the air. I know a couple of small island posts in the pacific are getting closed down. Good luck wherever you go, and keep up the blogging so we can read about it.
